Honestly, I don't really care about these zombie games, but even I have to admit these sales numbers for 'Resident Evil Requiem' are kind of ridiculous. Six million units sold worldwide? That's... a lot. And it barely took them any time to get there, jumping from five million to six million in less than a week. It launched on February 27th, and by March 4th, it was already at five million. Now it's pushing past six. It's almost impressive how much people apparently enjoy running around and shooting things that are already dead.
I suppose if the story has some *actual* emotional weight, or if there's a compelling character dynamic, then maybe I could see the appeal. But I highly doubt these kinds of sales are driven by nuanced character development or groundbreaking narrative. It's probably just more of the same predictable survival horror formula that everyone else seems to eat up. Still, reaching these figures so quickly indicates a massive audience ready for this kind of experience, whether it's actually good or not.
Look, I'm not saying it's *bad*. I just don't get the fuss. Maybe there's something I'm missing, some hidden depth or a truly heart-wrenching subplot that makes all the shooting worthwhile. But from what I hear, it's mostly just about surviving and finding ammo. Whatever. If you like it, fine. Just don't expect me to join the cheering squad.
"Six million? Seriously? I guess some people just really like being chased by things. Whatever. It's not like *I'd* ever get emotionally invested in that." — The Tsundere Critic
