Apparently, we're getting yet another manga adaptation this year. 'Tank Chair' is the latest to get the anime treatment, and it's slated to arrive in the fall. I suppose if it's going to be made, they might as well get it done. Polygon Pictures is handling the animation, which is… fine. They’ve done some decent work, but let’s not get our hopes up too high just yet.
The directorial and scriptwriting duties fall to Tadahiro Yoshihira and Hiroaki Ando. I haven’t heard of Yoshihira’s directorial work, but Ando did 'Ajin,' which was… watchable. It’s always a gamble, isn’t it? Will it be a masterpiece of character drama and intricate plotlines, or just another loud, pointless action flick? Honestly, it's probably the latter, but I'm morbidly curious to see if they can surprise me.
Look, I don't do hype. But if they manage to imbue this with some actual substance, some genuine emotional weight beyond shallow tropes, then maybe it won't be a complete waste of time. We'll see. Don't expect me to be jumping for joy, though.
"Hmph. Another one. I guess I'll watch it... but only if it's actually good and not just more fluff. Don't think I'm a fan or anything!" — The Tsundere Critic
