Oh, great. Another manga adaptation. Tsunami Umino's 'Kuroema' is getting the live-action treatment, and it's apparently going global on Amazon Prime Video. Five episodes, starring Hana Sugisaki and Mikako Tabe. Do I care? Maybe. I mean, it's just another thing to add to the endless pile of content, isn't it?
But then again, live-action can be a disaster, or it can be surprisingly decent. I've seen enough bad ones to be skeptical, but if they actually managed to nail the characters and the story, then… fine. I’ll admit it. I might actually watch it. Don't expect me to gush about it though. It's probably just going to be okay.
Still, the thought of seeing 'Kuroema' brought to life, with actual actors… it’s hard not to get a little curious. If they mess it up, well, that’s just par for the course. But if they somehow manage to pull it off and deliver some genuine drama or even a hint of romance that isn't completely forced? Ugh, fine, I’ll admit I might be a little invested.
"Honestly, it's probably going to be just 'fine.' But if it's good, I guess I won't complain. Much." — The Tsundere Critic
