Alright, fine, a historical drama about a witch in Mongolia. 'Tenmaku no Jaadugar,' whatever that means. The official site dropped the main cast and a promo video, so I guess it's happening. Starring Akira Sekine as Sitara and Houko Kuwashima as Fatima – names I vaguely recognize, but who knows. It’s adapted from a manga, naturally. Everything's adapted these days.
Apparently, it’s going to be airing on TV Asahi and BS Asahi in July. Historical dramas can be… a lot. All that earnestness and sweeping narratives. I suppose if they manage to inject some genuine emotional weight, it might be watchable. But let's be honest, the trailer probably just shows sand dunes and dramatic stares.
Still, if it’s got a good story and some character development that isn't totally predictable, maybe it won't be a complete waste of time. I’m not holding my breath, though. Just try not to disappoint me too much.
