Honestly, who would have thought we'd still be talking about G Gundam after all these years? It's not exactly the peak of 'serious' mecha drama, is it? All that over-the-top fighting and the sheer audacity of it all... It's the kind of show you either love or you're just bewildered by. But then again, there's something undeniably compelling about its raw energy. Seeing a new short celebrating its 30th anniversary? Fine, I'll admit, a tiny part of me is… curious. It's easy to dismiss, but G Gundam certainly left its mark, and this little anniversary treat might just remind us why.
It’s not like I was eagerly awaiting this or anything. It’s just… a thing that happened. And apparently, the After War Gundam X also gets some sort of 30th-anniversary project. More Gundam. Shocking. While G Gundam’s unique brand of chaos certainly stands out, I suppose even that deserves a nod after three decades. It’s the nostalgia factor, I guess. Or maybe it’s just a way to distract us from the next wave of generic mecha shows. Either way, it’s here, and if you’re into that sort of thing, go watch it. Don’t expect me to get all emotional about it, though. It’s just a cartoon, after all. Right?
"Hmph. 30 years of G Gundam? It's not like I care, but I suppose some people find that… spirited nonsense entertaining. Fine." — The Tsundere Critic
