Ugh, another HD remaster. Honestly, who even asked for this? But, fine, I suppose it's... nice that fans who missed out on the original 3DS release can now experience Bravely Default: Flying Fairy on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game launched on June 5th for Switch 2, so I guess this is just its next move. It's not exactly groundbreaking, but if you're into those classic JRPG vibes with a strategic twist, you might find something to enjoy here. Don't expect me to be raving about it, though.
It's just... I mean, it's *Bravely Default*. The story has its moments, I'll give it that. There's definitely some emotional weight to be found if you actually bother to pay attention, which most people probably won't. They'll just be mashing buttons and complaining about the difficulty, probably. Still, the idea of revisiting those intricate job systems and challenging boss battles on a bigger screen... it's not entirely without its appeal. Just don't expect me to shed any tears over it. I'm not that sentimental. Probably.
Look, it's a solid game, and if it brings some new players into the fold, then fine. I suppose it's better than nothing. Just don't come crying to me when the plot gets a little predictable or the dialogue gets cheesy. I warned you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have more important things to ignore.
"Hmph. If you're going to play it, at least try to appreciate the *real* drama, not just the flashy parts. It's... fine. Whatever." — The Tsundere Critic
