Honestly, another Battle Spirits anime? I suppose someone has to make these things. It’s not like I was eagerly awaiting this or anything, but if they’re bringing in Masashi Kudo to direct and have Taichi Kusano and Daiki Hamano on board, well… I guess it *could* be something. It’s not like I care about card game anime, but the thought of seeing how they handle the… *dramatic* moments. If there even are any.
I'm not expecting a masterpiece of emotional storytelling, obviously. It's a card game anime. But sometimes, even these generic franchises surprise you. Maybe there will be some surprisingly complex character dynamics, or perhaps a romance subplot that’s actually… not terrible? It’s a long shot, I know, but one can hope. Otherwise, it's just another show I'll pretend I didn't watch.
Still, I'll keep an eye on it. Not because I'm interested, but because… someone has to. And if it turns out to be genuinely good, well, I guess I wouldn't be *entirely* surprised. But don't get the wrong idea, I'm not excited. Not at all.
"Hmph. Another card game anime. As if I'd ever get invested in something like that. But… if it’s surprisingly good, I guess I won’t complain. Too much." — The Tsundere Critic
